How does it work?
  1. Right after you book, we email you your booking.
  2. Before the day, install Andante on your phone, sign in with the email you booked with and download the whole walk. Home wifi is best for this.
  3. On the day, head to the starting point during your time slot. There's no guide or group: you start whenever you get there.
  4. Put your headphones on and tap “Start the walk”. From then on the story moves with you: it knows where you are and tells you where to turn.
What should I bring?

A charged phone: the screen stays on for the whole walk, since that's how it knows where you are. Any headphones, ideally ones that let you hear the street. And location on: when the walk asks, tap “Allow”.

What if I'm running late?

That's fine: the time slot is a suggestion, and your access doesn't close when it ends. We picked it so you finish before dark, which means it's best not to leave it too late. If that day doesn't work at all, change it; see below.

Can I change the day? What if it rains?

Yes, free of charge, any time: reply to your booking email or write to hola@andante.uy and we'll move it. If it rains, just pick another day. And as long as you haven't started the walk, we'll refund you.

Do I need mobile data?

Only to sign in and download the walk, ideally on wifi before you set out. Once it's downloaded, you don't need data: the story, the map and the GPS all run on your phone. You can turn mobile data off or switch to airplane mode: the GPS keeps working either way. With no signal, the GPS can take about a minute to find you at the start.

Starts at the Puerta de la Ciudadela, on the Plaza Independencia side Ends at the corner of Bartolomé Mitre and 25 de Mayo, where the San Pedro gate stood, two blocks from where you started.
